Orange is one kind of lucky, happily symbol in Chinese custom. Especially  every family prepare All kinds of orange in the lunar new year ( Chinese new year), Some biggest one &  Citrus medica ( Fingered Citron) are worship the God, some orange plant for decoration in front door. Also we enjoy lots of delicious orange, orange is full of Taiwanese life in the winter.

Just Like bonsai, Fortunella Japonica is original from Fu Ken, Kung  Zhao province in China & great develop in Japan.  Indeed extremely expensive in Japan.  Always remember my father tell me a story about Fortunella Japonica---“Nearly 26 years ago, my father Travel with four friends in Omiya, Japan.. He really appreciate one middle size Fortunella Japonica, he want purchase. It’s pity—was shock by the incredible prize. Even collect  team’s money, not enough to get it!”

Taiwan is more warmer than Japan. So Fortunella Japonica is more happy & more fast grow in Taiwan. Although we start to study this variety nearly 30 years, but update haven’t any masterpiece come out.

To overcome the technical of Fortunella Japonica, I set up an interesting SKILL for rapidly enlarge the size, that was beginning from 10 years ago.

Proceed:

How to “ search the beauty of Fortunella Japonica.

Plenty of stock in my nursery, all of them have nearly 20 years in pot. Were careless in the past few years. I desire to restyle all of them in the spring.

This treatment should be operate in later spring when the growing season is approaching. Cut the main branch.

Make it sooth by sharp knife.  If the cut part still rough as photo 10, new bud could not come out from cambium.

Cover by the cut pester, this drug can protect the virus & the cambium easy to grow.

After above proceed, the tree should be put under the half sun and reduce water.
